iPhone
I like this app as it's clear, precise and more importantly if it were the actual size that it would be on the screen then it would still be resemble what the app is meant to represent.
The colours work, the red definitely stands out against the black which highlights the unknown and with the red meaning speed and excitement the combination just works.

Android
This app works too, again the use of red against black is common, the blue gives it depth,
more detail which helps when its the correct size. The gauge marks in
white give it that little bit more detail of what the app is about.
Pedometer - Steps
iPhone
This app is clear as it sends the right message about what the app is for.
It's complex and when the app is at the correct scale it is clear what
the app could be about, however it could be interpreted
as maybe a mapping app, or a walking app? Not counting steps.

Android
This app is very detailed, if this were to scale then I don't think it would be
very clear of what it is meant to be about. The shoe stamping down
on the burger I think is a relevant concept but it doesn't work on a smaller scale.

Decibel Meter - Sound Pressure
iPhone
Again, the iPhone's apps are sometimes more clearer. On a small scale
I would still be able to work out what the app is for. Without the word decibels,
I would think it was maybe a speed gauge,
but with the use of that small use of typography is appropriate.

Android
The android version has again more detail which on a smaller scale could be
illegible. But the small use of typography again helps to express
what the apps about. The colour here also helps to understand the gauge.

Barometer - Atmospheric Pressure
iPhone
The app looks brilliant upon a close-up and with the HD
of a iPhone screen you would still be able to work out
what the app what for, you'd still be able to
recognize the dials and the pictogram inside.
